Turkey reacts to renewed fighting in Syria

Hakan Fidan claims that Ankara is not involved in the rebel offensive in Syria.

Ankara will not allow “terrorists” to come to power on Syrian territory, said Hakan Fidan.

The Turkish government will not be involved in the fighting between the Syrian army and anti-government forces in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interfax-Ukraine reports on Saturday, November 30.

He assured that Ankara will not allow “terrorists” to come to power on Syrian territory.

“We will not allow terrorists to form their own state on the territory of Syria,” the minister said.

Fidan assured that Turkey is not participating in the conflict and will take measures in case of a new wave of refugees from Syria.

Let us remind you that this week anti-government forces launched an offensive in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo. They have taken control of a number of towns and much of the city of Aleppo, their first offensive in five years against President Bashar al-Assad’s army and Russian forces.
