Poland suffers deliberate cyberattacks from Russia
Russian attacks are targeted, exploiting vulnerabilities in Polish infrastructure.
In 2024, twice as many cybersecurity incidents were detected in Poland as in 2023, and three times as many as in 2022.
Russia is no longer hiding its cyberattacks on Poland. This was stated on Friday, November 29, by the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Digitalization Krzysztof Gawkowski at the opening of the Digital Skills Summit conference, TVN24 reports.
He stressed that these attacks are deliberate and aimed at identifying weaknesses in Polish infrastructure.
“Russia is no longer hiding that it is in a state of cyberwar with Poland. They are attacking and doing it deliberately. They know where our weaknesses are,” Gawkowski said.
The Minister also noted that in 2024, Poland experienced twice as many cybersecurity incidents as in 2023, and three times as many as in 2022. Most of these attacks were directed from Russia.
Russia intends to carry out a number of sabotage actions at US defense industry enterprises.
Let us recall that at the end of October, hostile hackers carried out a large-scale cyberattack against Ukraine. It was aimed at local governments.
