Norway
This phenomenon is known in science as the “northern sun”. It can be seen in areas south and north of the Arctic Circle.

There is a place in northern Europe where the sun practically never sets over the horizon. This is the area of Norway. In some parts of this country the sun shines 24 hours a day. This is what the Daily Mail writes.

“The longest period of time when the sun literally never sets over the horizon is experienced by the inhabitants of the Norwegian archipelago of Spitsbergen – the “northern sun” here “hangs” over the heads of local residents from April 20 to August 22,” scientists note.

According to British travel photographer George Cooper, who captured the phenomenon with a drone in the Lofoten Islands and other parts of Norway, sunlight illuminates Norwegian landscapes at some point during the night, from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

“The Earth rotates around its axis, tilted relative to the Sun, and in the summer months the North Pole is turned towards it. That is why for several weeks the sun literally never sets beyond the Arctic Circle, and therefore – residents of some territories see a certain long sunset, which smoothly flows into sunrise. You can see this amazing natural phenomenon with your own eyes by visiting Spitsbergen, the Lofoten Islands, as well as the city of Bodo, North Cape, Tromsø and some other areas, but you can see the “northern sun” not only in Norway, the phenomenon can also be observed in some parts of Alaska, Greenland and Canada,” the scientists added.

Recall that earlier the NASA SDO apparatus recorded a powerful plasma eruption on the Sun. This process, according to scientists, led to problems on Earth.
